University of Beads
Are there any Beading Classes you want to take, to learn a new Beading Technique? It's awfully likely that you can learn those skills, at the University of Beads at the Bead Cache in Fort Collins! If Heidi, Keriann, or Dawn don't know the technique, the Beading Instructors that we are fortunate to have a relationship with at, The University of Beads... DO! If there is a skill you wish to learn... You can learn it here, in one of our Beading Classes! A few, mostly basic Classes, are taught on a Quarterly 'scheduled' basis, published in the Quarterly Class Schedule. All the rest are taught on a Private Lesson basis, allowing you to receive the instruction you want, at a time most convenient to you.

Class Policies
Payment - Pre-payment is required at time of registration to reserve your place. You may register by phone with a credit card or by mail with a check. Cancellation - Our instructors have adjusted their schedules and committed the time for your class. All classes must be canceled 48 hours in advance, ~To receive in store credit~ If class is not canceled with 48 hours advance notice you will forfeit your class fee. Materials - Unless otherwise noted, your materials/supplies are not included. Please stop by the store, PRIOR, to class to select your Beads and Supplies. To Thank You, for enrolling in our Beading Classes, you will receive 10% OFF all purchases made on supplies for the class, as well as 10% OFF on all purchases made the day of class. You Will Not receive additional punches on your Busy Beader Card for these purchases.

Please feel free to ask about them and arrange to take a class alone or with a group you get together! Private Lessons may be taken for a fee of $20/hr. |
Beading Classes***We'll be Getting the Photographic 'samples' up soon!*** - Beginning Wire Work
Learn Basic wire working techniques that may be used to create earrings, pendants, and clasps, to incorporate in your Jewelry. Techniques taught are; Basic and Wrapped loops, several types of spirals, clasps, and hammering. There is NOT a finished projectin this class; You will focus on learning the techniques that will improve all your other projects.

- Advanced Wire Work
Learn Decorative links, using different gauges and styles of wire, mixed with Beads. There is not a finished project in this Bead Class. You will be focusing on learning the techniques.

- Wire Ring
Learn how to make your own Wire Rings. Mixing different wire techniques and Beads to form your own Creations!

- A Mothers Charm Bracelet
Learn how to make your own Charms with Beads and wire, mixed with Charms. Techniques learned are wrapped loop, Spirals, and Linking.

- Chains
Learn how to make your own chains with wire rings. Use these chains to create your own bracelets and necklaces with different colored wire and Beads!

- Three Strand Spiral Bracelets
Three Strands of Sparkle! Learn how to make this easy Spiral into a Great bracelet. Two Spiral Strands, mixed with a strand of crystals, or stones... you choose!

- Dutch Spiral
The inspiration for this, necklace creating Beading Class, came from Innovative Beaded Jewelry Techniques by Gineke Root, as well as two sites on the WWW; Emily Hackbarth's and Indian Summer's. The basic Stitch for this spiral is Odd Count Tubular Peyote. What makes it so much fun is the texture achieved by using many different sizes and shapes of Beads

- Four Seasons Bracelet
Make this fun, fringy, bracelet for every season, or occasion! This project is a great way to utilize those odd, left over beads!

- Zulu Beadwork Bracelet
Woven, Spiny, Beads with an Artistic Flair. This is a very fun, unique bracelet!

- Mixed Bead Herringbone Bracelet
Using size 14, 11, & 8 seed Beads, create this Flat Herringbone bracelet.

- Cabochon Beadwork
Learn a beautiful was to show off Stone and Fused Glass Cabochons. Make them into earrings, pendants or even links for bracelets.- Peyote Stitch Earrings
Use Tubular Peyote, and fringe with Bugle Beads to create these fun, swishy, earrings.

- Free Form Peyote
Make a fantastic Freeform bracelet with this Beading Class. Rules? We don't need no stinking rules! Once you learn this stitch, it can be used in larger sculptural projects as well.

- Beginning Crochet Rope
Take this Beading Class and become one of the many people Jan has introduced to the wonderful world of Bead Crochet.

- Mixed Strand Necklace
A strand of Beads, a chain (funky or fine), and Leather, or anything else your imagination can produce. Try different fibers, wirem, thread, ribbon, your imagination is your only limitation. Learn how to bring multiple types of strands together and finish them with several differentclosures... As seen in the Spring 2007 Beadwork's STRINGING magazine!- Vintage Multi-Strand Chain Necklace
Mix layers of Chain, with Pearls, Crystals, and other Beads to make this beautiful, fashionable necklace.- Serpentine

~ Precious Metal Clay ~
'PMC Open Studio'
- This is NOT a class.
- We'll do (2) two demonstrations.
- Participants may then use our equipment to create and then fire their work at the end of the day.
- Created Pieces will be available for pick up once they have been removed from the Kiln the following day.
~ Riveting ~
'Riveting Open Studio'
- This is NOT a class.
- Prerequisites: Participants must have basic riveting knowledge, and have taken Riveting Riot, or Riveting in Circles classes
- Participants may use our equipment to create fabulous metal and found object pieces.
- We will be available for questions as they arise.
