Beginning Kumihimo

Learn this ancient Japanese braiding technique. In this beginning class we will make a bracelet while learning the basic braid and attaching the end caps and clasp. This is a required class for any of the beaded Kumihimo classes.

Time: 2 hours

Tools & Materials:

  • 1 package of 1mm satin cording

  • Thin thread for binding (provided in class)

  • 2 6mm end caps with loop

  • Lobster clasp

  • 2 jump rings

  • E6000 glue

  • Kumihimo disk

  • Center weight

  • 8 weighted bobbins

  • Scissors

  • 12" ruler
